Date Nights

Me and my hubby love trying to schedule a date night at least twice a month that is just me and him. This is a very rare thing for a couple of reasons, we have to find a babysitter, we are on a tight budget, we usually end up doing something with a group of friends (most of them don't have kids and its the only time we can really hang out) and usually we are so tired because of the events of the week we really don't want to do anything. We do try to even when we are to tired. The date nights help us catch up and keep "us" as a couple strong so we can be better parents and stand a united front when it comes to our girls. This in the long run helps us run better as a family.

Our date nights vary it could be just dinner, dinner and a movie, just a movie, a "movie" night at home, or a game night. Game nights are our funnest and cheapest. We usually go to target or toys r us, they have the best "adult" party games. Usually on game nights we invite some friends or go to a friends house have a byob rule and everybody chips in for snacks or to order a pizza and have a BLAST! Cheap and easy fun and you will laugh all night long. Our movie nights we usually do the same thing but sometimes we do manage to get a movie night to ourselves. Or a movie afternoon. My husband loves to be silly and cracks me, he keeps me smiling and laughing so we always have fun.

Last night we had one of our solo date nights. This date night was a free date night, which are the BEST! We had a gift certificate to Oyster Bar and Grill. Then we had a gift certificate to Regal Cinemas so of course we used that for going to see Eclipse. We love the Twilight saga, we aren't crazy fanatics but we do try to see them when they come out. No, we have not read the books we probably should but haven't. The dinner was great and the movie was awesome we were a little disappointed with the ending but it was still a great movie. The girls were at their grandparents for the night and slept over so this morning we were both able to sleep in until 11:00 am. Then we were able to just relax and enjoy the house for a while before going to get the girls. We always miss the girls when they are gone shortly after they get dropped of or picked up and we "try" not to talk about them while we are on our date but we always end up talking about them. One of the best parts of date night though is getting the girls back because Punkin runs up to us and screams mommy, daddy, I missed you and we get smothered in hugs and kisses. Doodle Bug just gets all excited and just kicks and kicks her feet and gives kisses. Now she is only eight months old so her kisses are full open mouth slobbery kisses...kinda gross but oh so sweet!
