The "extras" that I had no idea came with the title "mom"

I'm sure I am not the only one who feels like their mom task has some little extras that they did not know came with the job of mommy. I know I didn't.

I honestly was not naive in the fact that motherhood was a difficult task, I knew there would be great days and just down right horrible days, some of which I keep having lately. I knew as a mom you were 100% responsible for your kids. You have to feed, clothe, provide shelter, provide them with medical care, teach them right from wrong, manners (although I've noticed that some parents seem to forget this part this is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine), should be hands on with their education and spiritual learning, potty training, diapering, basically all the basics. These are my views by the way, but I'm certain I'm not the only one with these views. Then the little extras that you give them like toys, trips to the park, movies, etc...

I however did not know I was going to take on the role of "grandparent" or mommy to a baby doll. Punkin has her "baby" that now is like my third kid! How in the world did I become responsible for a baby doll. We did get her or well...Santa brought Punkin her baby doll for Christmas when she was 18 months old. We were trying for Doodle Bug and decided if she had a baby and everything a baby needed it would make the transition easier. It worked! I am however starting to think it worked just a little to well. Baby (this is what she named her) goes everywhere with us and I mean everywhere, if I remember correctly I think I did a whole post on Baby. But lately dragging this baby doll everywhere has been getting very tiring and almost like I'm caring for three kids. We have to have baby in her car seat and she has to be buckled. Baby has to have her diaper bag and juice and favorite toy. If baby is hurt she has to go to the doctor and the baby doll doctor kit is not good enough. She has to go the Punkin's doctor. If we lose baby which we did this weekend and I think it was at swim class, she freaks out, this weekend we had to call her uncle who is a cop and see if he can help find her. I never let her do that I pretended to call him to calm her down. We made phone calls everywhere to see if she was there etc. This time, unlike the first time, I had a back up. She now has bitty baby and is happy. Thankfully her old baby and bitty look similar.
Taking this baby everywhere and all of her stuff is difficult. I have my purse, Doodle Bugs diaper bag, Doodle Bug, Punkin, Punkin's baby, Babys carseat, diaper bag and everything else. Granted it was cute for a while but I am starting to lose my patience. I also have added to my very busy schedule have to dress baby for day time (play clothes) and night time (pjs) we brush baby's teeth while Punkin brushes her, same with going to the potty. Everyone in the stores thinks this is adorable and it is until I have to haul the stuff around or we have a melt down because baby falls and we can't take her to the doctor.

Worried about her baby at the doctors office during Doodle Bugs 9 month check up!
Grocery shopping and this works out in a way because I put all of the girls stuff in Punkin's buggy.
At Doodle Bug's 9 month check up Baby had fallen out of the car and needed to be examined and they amused her it was so sweet of them!

On a lighter note the role of teacher I have taken on and not teacher of life but pre-school teacher is a fun task. This does go back to the basics though so I was a little more prepared for this. I am very thankful that Punkin loves to learn. She ask to do her pre-school all the time and even on the weekends. She is also doing very well. I am so proud of her. She is three years old and is very smart for her age. Soon she will be tested for a magnet pre-school for next school year and if she gets in she will be able to stay at that school for her entire elementary career. We have our fingers crossed. I do work with Doodle Bug on this too, we do flash cards. I did this with Punkin when she was a new born all the way up to today. We make everything a learning experience.
She needs a little more work on her little a.
I love how she gets so excited to learn.
After our 30 minute lesson we put her work on the bulletin board for Daddy to see! This is also the first thing you see hanging on the wall when you walk in my front door, which is the playroom.

Some of the fun games we do that they have picked up really quickly and really well that teach them their ABC's, 123's, colors, days of the week, months, seasons, etc. are listed below:
  1. Doing laundy we count how many items come out of the dryer
  2. Folding laundry we say the colors of each item
  3. Driving we notice colors and find certain colors
  4. Driving we also sing ABC'S and a song for days of the weeks
  5. Driving we also point out what red means (stop), green (go), yellow (get ready to stop), blue (hospital)
  6. Going to the park we pick out shapes or while shopping, we also do the same with colors
  7. In the car we practice spelling our name or while we are shopping (I do get funny looks sometimes but hey oh well)
  8. Doing dishes is a great way we do shapes and counting
  9. The game twister is great for teaching left from right
  10. We learn our left from our right while shopping going up and down the isles we will say we are going to turn... then do so.
  11. They only get to watch educational shows, nick jr is great and so is the baby channel and sprout
  12. We count all of our toys while putting them away etc...
This also helps me get my work done while still getting to spend time with my kids and teaching them at the same time.

There are many things you can come up to teach kids the basics. I was doing some research and a lot of children go to kindergarten without knowing a lot of this. I do not want my kids to be those children. It is very saddening to me and I really hope that what I read was wrong. I am proud to say that Punkin, with help, can write the whole alphabet. Her 1, 2, 3 and we are working on her name. By herself she can write her A and B and C. If you are not paying attention to her and she is not being silly she can count past 20. She also knows all of her shapes and for Christmas my parents are going to get her the tag reader because her cousin that is one year older than her can read because of it so I'm hoping with me helping her that will work too. Anyone else have this item? If so does it really work or help your child read?

I hope everyone has a great week I will be back on this evening to catch up and visit some blogs running a little behind today. Thanks for stopping by!

Nap Time

Sometimes I wonder why I bother cleaning the playroom or Punkin's room. I just don't understand how it gets so messy so fast.

This morning I stepped away to change Doodle Bugs diaper for less than five minutes and Punkin had gotten the Gerber baby cereal and poured it out all over the playroom. So it was like the baby powder situation all over again. This time I made her clean it and she was not a happy camper. I didn't take pictures of it either because I was so aggravated with the situation.

During her nap time from 1:00pm to 3:00pm she has gotten to where she will not sleep but will play in her room unless she is super tired or sick and actually falls asleep. How do I know when she sleeps or plays; it is very simple. Her room stays clean during the day because she plays in her playroom all day. After nap time her room is a mess if she didn't sleep. I have learned to accept this and as long as she stays in her room and plays quietly I don't mind. I am still able to get my school work done, house clean, and important phone calls made. She also doesn't wake up Doodle Bug, which is why she has to play quietly. I do however miss her actually sleeping because she was less cranky in the afternoon. But I have accepted that she is getting older and will not always take a nap and if I just let her play quietly than its less of a struggle of trying to force her to sleep. We have adjusted the schedule and when she doesn't sleep she does have to go to bed one hour early. So instead of going to bed at 8pm she goes to bed at 7pm. This is less of a fight because she is usually exhausted and full because it's right after dinner time.

Doodle Bug's nap time is much easier for now.... Doodle Bug has a certain way she has to be put down, which is very different from Punkin. Punkin, since she was very little I would just read her a story (while rocking her) lay her in the bed and walk out of the room. She went straight to sleep, even after growing out of her crib at 18 months and getting into a toddle bed. Yes, I know that is a very young age, but she climbed out of her crib at that age and fell head first on the floor and it scared me half to death so we bought her a very low (with rails) toddler bed. Doodle Bug has to be rocked while reading a story with her blanket, then be completely covered with her blanket while I'm standing and swaying while I sing to her. Then while we are swaying I slowly lay her down and cover her completely turn on her sea horse that sings a lullaby and walk out of the room. Sounds complicated doesn't it? Buddy thinks so too. The past two Wednesdays when I came home from class he was about to lose his mind because Doodle Bug would not go to bed for her. It works like a charm for me and takes about ten minutes.

Hopefully Doodle Bug will keep her easy sleep schedule because she loves her sleep. One of these days when Punkin realizes she likes her naps or wishes she could take one I plan on reminding her of this past year. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Don't you love it. She thinks its funny. Then she says Mommy I made a mess. (while giggling)
Everyday I get to clean her room and it's starting to get annoying.

A great start to a day that turned horrible got better then bad again...

Yesterday was one of those days that you wish you could just go back to bed and try again in a week!

First off my hubby's job is at a collision body shop and there are two painters; him and one other person. The other painter is on vacation and so he is swamped. They work on straight commision and on Tuesday he already had 110 hours. Nice check but he's been working until about 8pm and going in around 6am. Tonight his boss is having him do a custom paint job on his prized 68' mustang to be put into a car show on Saturday (very late notice) so he will probably be at work until at least midnight. :( So I am sort of playing single mom this week which is why yesterday I wanted to run away and pull my hair out.

Yesterday started off to a GREAT start. The girls and I slept in until 10am. Since it was so late and we missed breakfast we went straight to snack time and Punkin thought this was awesome. I did give them fruit for a snack to counter act the missing breakfast though. We played and cleaned all together, well, I swept and Punkin tried to help but made it worse and Doodle Bug kept trying to play in my dirt pile, but we were having fun. Then I cooked a big lunch because we missed breakfast and the girls went down for a nap or so I thought.

Punkin found a bottle of baby powder and emptied it all over her room and her fresh out of the dryer rug. She also decided to play dress up instead of taking a nap and put on a play dress up ring with a "gem" in it and chewed it off. The gem ended up getting swallowed and she started gagging and choking and spitting up. While all of this was going on Doodle Bug slept for maybe thirty minutes and then woke up and so I had to keep going in there to rock her back to sleep. When she was almost good and knocked out, that when Punkin came flying out of her room choking on the "gem". These kids keep me on my toes. I called my neighbor next door with three older kids for advice and after she calmed my fears a little I decided to call her doctor just to be on the safe side I found out that choking is a "good sign" because her air ways are not blocked and that she should be fine and would pass it in a couple of days. Yay! Did you get the sarcasm?

After all of this happened I gave up on nap time and decided to just let them watch a movie quietly while laying on the couch, hoping they would get some sort of rest. It is also almost 4pm and I still haven't had a chance to take a shower and I had class across town at 630. My hubby then calls to tell me I would probably need to call a babsitter because he didn't think he would be able to leave. I was ready to give up and so I told him I would just miss class. He then told me that was not an option and would be home by 530 because he wasn't going to let me miss class. He told me he would figure something out. That made the day start to get better.

I was finally able to get a shower and dinner cooked and the mail checked. The mail was even better, no I still have not gotten my school money back yet, fingers crossed for next week. I got my new house payment booklet and my house note went down! My neighbors probably thought I was crazy because I was skipping like a school girl to the front door. When my hubby got home I gave him the good news and he gave me some starbucks money and told me to get a treat because he knew I had a bad day. Then I got to class, not wanting to get my test back because I thought I failed it, and found out I got a B.

I got out of class early but on the way home a car almost side swiped the side of my car and then I got home to find Doodle Bug still up. She will only go to bed for me and Buddy was at his wits end. Punkin also didn't sleep very well and was up a few times last night too. So I got no sleep and had to wake up early to run some important errands and now I need to clean the house and just don't feel like it so I think I will take a break and maybe a nap.

Hope everyone is having a better day than me!

We did also recieve a few prizes and Christmas presents in the mail. We got Bitty Baby for Punkin's back up doll when this baby will no longer be able to be played with, she's about had it. We also got baby's Christmas dress, this is the Bitty baby dress on her regular baby. She also got the Christmas pjs for her and Bitty baby but won't get those until Christmas Eve. We also received in the mail one of Doodle Bugs presents and her santa gift, a blow up house will balls in it, a ball pit.

Snacks after refusing to take a nap and baby powdering a room and mommy losing her mind.
Doodle Bug walking around the table and eating her snacks. She also like to play the I dropped my, my little pony please pick it up mommy and then giggles as you hand it to her...see the pony on the floor...lol

Family activities that give exercise!

This past week and weekend our family has adopted two new activities that we are going to try to keep up. Buddy and I have been looking for something that our family can do together that will encourage our kids to be active as well and that we both like to do so we can do it as a couple and family. We found two skating and basket ball.

I grew up skating and taught all the kids in our family and their friends (at all the skating birthday parties). My hubby loves skating too. He used to skate around the neighborhood and was really good. We have a skating rink here that is open on Monday nights from 6:30pm-9:00pm and plays Christian music. Its only $4 to get in, I used to go every Monday in high school and my legs were toned as all get out (my goal again) but it was $2.50 to get in. They also have a regular night on Thursday same price and times. Pretty inexpensive especially if we eat dinner before we go. We went last Thursday and had a blast! Punkin loved it too! Which of course made me so proud especially since I was so excited to teach my little girl how to skate as well. We are hoping to go again tonight and maybe Thursday. Last Thursday there was a roller derby team there practicing and they asked me to join. HAHAHAHA! Buddy wants me to join and well, so does everybody else. It would be amazing exercise and it helps with frustration but I'm not to sure I'm ready for that. LOL!

Bud's favorite sport growing up was basketball. That's one of the many things he has spouted off this year that he wants. I have a very long mental note of all his gift ideas and the sad thing is I don't think one thing is less than $100 :( So for our anniversary I got him a nice in ground basketball goal. He loved it! We have played every day since it was set up on Saturday afternoon. We even got Punkin her own little basketball perfect for her, although she can't reach the goal she tries very hard. It's nice to be outside even though it is still very hot. We don't really see many kids outside playing and it makes us very sad. What happened to the old days (and i'm not that old) when kids hated being inside and all they wanted to do was play sports and be outside with their friends. The days when cars did drive slow down neighborhood streets because there was always kids playing. People speed down my street like its a high way and we have joked about laying out spikes to see if that slows them down. The city won't do anything about it so our kids are not allowed in the front yard unless we are out there and even then they can't go past the tree in our front yard. But its the only place we had to put the basketball goal so we have to watch closely but Punkin is really good at obeying the rules outside. I am very happy and thankful that our kids love to play outside and would rather be outside than watching t.v. or playing video games. We save that for rainy days or sick days. Now I do let them play games or watch cartoons but I try very hard for them to use their imagination and stay active, even if its just being silly around the house without the tv.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Party Planning

A little secret I love to plan parties/ host events. I have to admit I'm pretty good at it and maybe it's because I enjoy it so much. I plan parties or events just like I do my Christmas planning. Early! I decided to do this post today as I was filling out my Doodle Bug's first birthday invitation! I cannot believe she will be one next month :(

This year I have decided to do a small first birthday for Doodle Bug, because Punkin's first birthday was so crazy. We did a princess theme and we had about 30-40 people. My poor house and my nerves had it that day. We had a slip in slide and kiddie pool, I had white carpet, and there were about ten kids here in all age ranges. Needless to say me staying up until 2am the morning before steam cleaning was a waste of time!

Her second party was at a local park and we still had a good bit of people. The second birthday party was dora themed and much better. The third birthday was Butterfly theme but done at her gymnastics place. This was the best everyone did everything for us and all we had to do was enjoy our kids, family, and friends. So learning from experience I decided to do a smaller party for Doodle Bug a simple party with only immediate family and really close friends.

I follow some real simple and usually pleasing rules for everybody. Here are a few tips on how I handle all the stress.
  1. I remember our kids are gifts from God and every year we get with them is a gift so birthdays are a very big deal at our house.
  2. I want their birthday to be a good one so I plan shortly after the each party, so even if money is a little tight they still get to celebrate in a big way.
  3. I put money in an envelope even if its a dollar a week
  4. I have a list of themes according to age to do and go through based on their interest and time of year (one I just added because a girl at church did this, a scavenger hunt, you do have to include other parents but they girls had a blast from what I understand and my neighbor who was driving had fun too. Its for older kids)
  5. If I find any of the party stuff on sale I get it and stash it away just like I do for Christmas
  6. I plan parties either early in the day or late in the evening (this way you don't interfere with other peoples plans, my girls get invited to birthday parties a lot and I know how it feels to re-arrange your saturday around a party)
  7. I also write clothes and shoe sizes on the invitation so I get less calls and this makes a world of a difference
  8. Early morning parties are around 10:30/11 and get cake, ice cream, and small appetizers like chips and dip, or breakfast casseroles
  9. Late evening parties we do something like hot dogs and/or burgers, its inexpensive and quick, and cake and ice cream
  10. Party favors I will get one "big" toy and candy I also mark the favor boxes with a "g" or "b" and do favors accordingly for boys or girls
  11. I only buy the theme supplies like plates and cups and stuff for the kids, adults get plain plates in the colors of the theme
  12. I also only schedule the party for no more than two hours.
These things are just what makes things easier for me. It also seems to please the guest and my kids always have fun and their smiles on their faces is priceless! I do this for all types of occasions; I have thrown two baby showers this year and those were fun too. Here are a couple of pics of Doodle Bug's theme and gifts from our Anniversary night last night! I saved for his gift and he did some side work for mine....oh so sweet! Hope you enjoy!

We chose my little pony because the other day me and Doodle Bug were shopping together and I got her one and she literally ate a hole in the box trying to get the pony out.

I write the size and shoe size for less phone calls
Her presents
The paper was too cute, I couldn't help myself!
He can't wait to put up his basket ball goal this weekend!
My purse I've been wanting, and my two favorite snacks!
He special ordered it and shipped it to his moms...aww...he's so sweet!

4 Years and Still Going!

Today is mine and my husband anniversary! We have been married for 4 years today! So this post today is a little background on how we came about and to be honest it is quite funny. This is also my best friends favorite story!

Shortly after graduating high school my best friend and I were out shopping and having a girls night and I never thought that night would be one of the most changing nights of my life. We were headed back to her house and as we pulled into her driveway she yelled oh there's Buddy (my hubby's nickname he hates his real name). Why did she get so excited because they all grew up together all of her 5 siblings including her and my husband and his sister. They were like brother and sister and she got all excited because he was single. I was dating a guy but it was not going to well because he was a jerk and we were on the ends of our rope and she was tired of seeing me hurt. So we walked down to his house only two doors down. She was so excited to introduce us because she was sure we would hit it off and she was right. If you ask Buddy he will tell you when he saw me there was a ray of light shining around me and he just knew I was the one for him.

I on the other hand was completely distracted with the issues of my boyfriend at the time because I knew he was cheating and would not admit it all though I busted him. While I was dealing with these issues and arguing with him on the phone Buddy was telling me the whole time I would never treat you that way. After getting tired and a little annoyed with everything going on me and my best friend headed over to her house and to my surprise Buddy was following right behind us. LOL. After a while of just hanging out Mer's (my best friend) boyfriend's came over to get Buddy because his family was wondering where he went and he tells her boyfriend "I am going to date that girl one day." :)

A couple of weeks go by and me and the other guy called things off because I was tired of his behavior and Mer calls me all excited yet again. She wanted to go swimming at her granpaws house and asked if I would come along. It was summer and I was all for it, as soon as I got there to pick her up she tell me "by the way Buddy is coming" She was scheming! HAHAHA! A few weeks later we were seeing each other quite frequently and decided to make it official. Six months later we moved in with each other and six months after that we were married! Mer is so proud that she was able to get us together and we have lasted so she takes full responsibility.
We have of course gone through our rough patches, who doesn't. We will also probably have more to come but we have made it though alot. Everything from medical problems, pregnancy at a young age, a difficult pregnancy, money issues, and serious family problems. But, I've always been told that if you can make it through the first year your good. My dad said second year and that sounded better and after getting pregnant on our honey moon we decided to add if we can make it four years will be able to survive anything. WE MADE IT!!!!!

We were both different religions and so we did not get married in the church. He was Catholic and I'm a southern Baptist so we got married by a justice of the peace outside. Next year on our 5 year anniversary we want to re-new our vows in the church we joined as a family. I did pull out a few wedding pics to share with you they are pictures of pictures so please bear with me on the quality.

Have a great weekend everybody!

So relaxed and taking it all in

This weekend was amazing! Finally some sleep, relaxation, much needed family time, A's on test and first papers, and skating!

Yes, I did say skating too. I know I'm 23 and skating right? Well I've been skating since, well, since I was in my moms tummy :). My whole family on her side skates; speed skates and can do tricks, dancing, the works. I lived at the skating rink in middle school on the weekends and once I got to high school we started going on Mondays. Mondays were only $2.50 to get in and it was Christian night and not very many people there. It was our family night and we had a blast. When that started to taper off me and a good friend kept it up. We raced each other and got a great work out! I loved it and it helped me relieve so much stress. Shortly after meeting my husband we quit going and unless a cousin, niece, nephew, or a friends child had a birthday party there I never went back. Today was the first day I have had on a pair of skates in so long and it felt so good. I'm pumped now and ready to get my high school body back or at least my legs and hiney :).

Friday night we had a game night with some friends and Saturday the girls went to their grandparents and my hubby went riding and I did homework, scrubbed my house (YES!!!), went and did a little shopping after catching a break in the budget (thankfully), and had lunch with the bestie and just enjoyed the day. Sunday me and the hubby slept until around eleven and got up to find his dad a retirement gift after having no luck, I was joking around and said if we got you some skates would your start skating with me? To my surprise he said yes and told me he used to skate all over the neighborhood and loved it when he was little. We obviously did two different kinds of skating but hey it'll work. We spent the whole day trying to find street hockey skates in our town and had no luck! We did have a nice lunch, got icees, and enjoyed the day with just us, something that hasn't happened in a long time and was way over due. It was like we were on a date in high school again lol. This morning we got up bright and early got everyone dressed and spent the whole morning looking for skates and finally found a pair. We came home and put on our skates, (Punkin too, her training skates) and we set off. I can't wait until Thursday, our anniversary, to go as a family and with some friends to the skating rink! We set the date nothing fancy just good fun and exercise.

Sunday we also had a celebration with family and friends in honor of my father in law who retired this past week. Ribs, Steaks, salad, sautéed mushrooms, marinated crab claws, sausage, and just the works! Hince the skating ;) After some swimming, and surprisingly the waster was freezing, good conversation, and ending with a movie night we were wiped out. Followed by our chase after some skates for the hubby and then getting back on them we are exhausted.

I did fit in some homework and checked my grades, I have all A's and got a perfect score on my first english essay rough draft. Talk about relief. I'm ahead in all my classes and can take it kind of easy this week. Hope everyone had a great and safe Labor Day weekend!
Our downtown sky line just figured I would take a pic!
Doodle Bug about to pass out after a long day of shopping today, I love my stroller older child and sit or stand in the back and the seat folds nicely and I can remove it or put it back very easily.
Punkin and her Daddy playing games in the arcade at the mall.

Ms. K, Father in law, and mother in law after great night of celebrating.
My father in law and my hubby, they are so much a like...haha.
Punkin excited to be riding in daddy's truck with the top off!
Doodle Bug not sure what to think, it was her 1st time in the 4-runner.
Daddy's antique/classic (not sure) '87 4-runner pretty much completely restored this is his baby. I was told I would have to bury him in this truck. Perfect temp for riding with the top off!

mommies

There are a couple of poems that make me smile and express how I feel sometimes that I'm sure every mom feels! Here are two that are pretty cute and quite funny...my fave I can not find just yet but as soon as I do I will post it! Don't take these to seriously they are just cute poems to make you smile :)

I Want To Be Locked Up

(Thoughts from a harried mom, who is beginning to think some time in a minimum-security, white collar crime prison is looking pretty good.)

I want to be locked up
Away from everything,
Free from all the craziness
A mother's day can bring.

No planning, shopping, cooking
Three healthy meals a day,
Served up with love to finicky kids
Who throw most of it away.

No constant interruptions,
Dirty laundry on the floor,
Driving everyone every place,
Sibling rivalry (It’s war!)

No one asking me to do things,
Getting mad if I forget,
Me giving up my very self—
I’m the family marionette.

Prison sometimes looks appealing
(Or maybe the looney bin),
I get free time and three square meals;
With nothing to do, I win!

I want to be locked up
For freedom, time and such,
There’s just one obstacle for me:
I love my kids too much!

What Did You Do Today?

Today I left some dishes dirty, The bed got made around 3:30. The diapers soaked a little longer, The odor grew a little stronger. The crumbs I spilled the day before, Are staring at me from the floor. The fingerprints there on the wall, Will likely be there still next fall. The dirty streaks on those window panes, Will still be there next time it rains. Shame on you, you sit and say, Just what did you do today?

I nursed a baby till he slept, I held a toddler while he wept, I played a game of hide and seek, I squeezed a toy so it would squeak. I pulled a wagon, sang a song, Taught a child right from wrong. What did I do this whole day through? Not much that shows, I guess it’s true. Unless you think that what I’ve done, Might be important to someone, With bright brown eyes and soft blond hair, If that is true … I’ve done my share.

I would not trade being at home with my girls for the world!

These two little angels are why I do what I do, the sacrifices, the hard work, the loss of privacy, craziness, the busyness, and the never ending work, doesn't seem bad at all when you can look at your kids and know they are in your hands, well taken care of, and they are happy! The simple "I love you mommy" that I hear all day is the best reward I can receive after a long hard day!

It's been a blah :P few days!

Have you ever had the feelings where you just get burnt out? You don't feel like doing anything and feel like your here but not here. This is how I've felt for the past couple of days. Just in a blah mood. I know a lot of people get like this, or at least I hope so, I hope I'm not the only one! I don't know what it is or maybe I do I'm not sure.

Wednesday I had class and my hubby was pushing the time he got home and not because he was working late. The girls were not cooperating, Doodle Bug is teething and Punkin had a tummy ache so I burnt the dinner, didn't finish straighting my hair, and kept tripping over them because all they wanted was to be held. So by the time my hubby got home I was angry because he got off early and didn't come home to help, when he knew I had class, but he was helping his dad. So him not coming home in enough time caused a fight. When I got home I was so tired and baffled because I had no idea what the teacher was talking about I just wanted to go to bed. I wasn't able to go to bed because Punkin was still up and kept getting out of bed and I had a lot of homework and we were trying to talk out our problem. Needless to say the talking didn't work out because of the girls and he got frustrated and went to bed and so I got on the couch to study where I passed out.

One of the other reasons why I think I'm in this blah mood is our budget is getting a little tight with our vacation coming up and because I had to pay for my school up front and will get the money back after 30 days of being in school. We also have a few new medical bills we just received. YAY! :( (sarcasm). My hubby gets paid every week and they are doing really well at work so that helps because we have at least a ten day grace period on everything but you can still fill the crunch. Have you ever had the feeling when you are checking your account balance and your stomach gets all queezy because your scared of how much money is not in the bank? That's how I have felt all week and I keep telling myself everything will be okay in about three weeks when I get my school money but still those two -in-half three weeks seems so far away and I know its really not, it is already September right? We are trying to get out of debt completely with the exception of our house note and every time we make head way something happens and we have to pull money out of a magic hat. It can be very discouraging! We were working on the Dave Ramsy plan because my parents did that and so did hubby's aunt and uncle and it worked great, I don't know their details on how they did it but my parents were amazing. They had four times as much debt as we do and got completely out of debt and their savings account built up in only two years! The only thing that is not paid for is the house because they are building up their retirement fund now. We have less debt than they do and almost the same income and I just can't manage to get where they are and its depressing, especially when you are trying and trying and stuff starts happening that throws a wrench in our plan.

I know that we are doing very well for ourselves especially for our ages, 23 and 26. We are happily married with two wonderful healthy little girls, we are healthy, and we have a very loving and supportive family. We own our home, have two paid off cars (his) and a nice family car (mine). We don't even really have that much credit card debt, we have three cards all with a balance of less that a thousand on it. I just wish we didn't have them at all.

So last night after my break down to my best friends she re-assured me that everything will be okay and her dad used to do re-pos and can help you budget even for those who are months behind on something and help them in like two months be caught up with savings....amazing! So she helped me get set me up on a plan so I'm a little more hopeful and still waiting on that money but I know it will be okay. My hubby hit a record at his work with the second most hours in the the body shop history, he gets 5 paychecks next month, I get my school money in a couple of weeks, bonus in December. If I can just get the patience I'll be okay right? I still need some convincing can you tell?
Tonight I think we are just going to have a family night, I am planning on cleaning and doing homework. Tomorrow the girls are going to their Grandma's and we are going 4-wheeler riding, Sunday after church we are having a big retirement party for my father -in-law so hopefully the weekend will get my mind off of things! Depressing I know but it helps to get it off my chest!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
