I might be a little strict and might be a little crazy but yes my three year old has chores. She has had them since she could walk and help pick up her toys. She actually loves doing them and I had to add a couple that she likes to help us do because if we do them without her she gets so upset.
Here are her chores: She has to make her bed (it doesn't have to be perfect)
She has to clean her room (putting toys away and her books)
She has to clean her playroom (putting away toys, movies, games)
She loves to help feed the dogs
Being good on outings
The bottom part of her chore chart is no potty accidents if we have a sticker on each day of the week she gets a .50 bonus! She loves this and we are also hoping this teaches them very young to be a good saver!
She also loves to help me do laundry and dishes but these are not her chores. She has a chore chart I have on the fridge and she gets to use stickers (her favorite thing in the world) to mark when she has completed her tasks. She is three years old so she gets $3.00 every Saturday. She loves getting money and is a really good saver and loves putting her money in her piggy bank. She has a small pig bank and then she has a precious moments angel bank with her birthstone on it. When they are both full we take her money and cash the change in and make a deposit in her savings account. Then we start all over!
What I have done from the day they were born they get .50 a week, $1.00 a week at one year, $2.00 at two years and so on and so on. I got the amount out of the parents magazine. She only has to get at least two stickers a day to get her whole allowance. Some of the chores are usually done after her bedtime to we usually just try to make sure her bed gets made and her bedroom is clean.
